In less than a week, New World, the big MMORPG from Amazon, will be released. If you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, you are probably already wondering what it costs, where to get it, and if you should still pre-order it now. We clarify all these questions and more in this article.
What is this about? Buying a game can be quite confusing these days. There are often numerous versions, different pre-order bonuses, various editions, and bonus materials from certain retailers.
We will take a look at how this works for the upcoming MMORPG New World. Where you can buy New World, how much each edition costs, and what added value they offer you, we explain here at MeinMMO.
What editions are available? First, we will outline which editions exist and what they cost:
- Standard Edition (39.99 €)
- Deluxe Edition (49.99 €)
- Steelbook Edition (59.99 €)
- Steelbook without game (10.00 €)
While you can conveniently order the Standard and Deluxe Editions online and receive an activation key, the Steelbook Edition is only available as a physical version. The Steelbook Edition is also only available at Amazon and is currently sold out (as of September 21).
The Steelbook without game is still available, however, it is also marked with the note “while supplies last”.
Steam is required
Where can you buy the editions? The official retailers for the MMORPG are currently only Steam and Amazon themselves. So, if you see the game on other websites and at other retailers, you should be cautious.
It is not known whether Amazon plans to sell the title through other vendors in the future. Since Steam specializes in digital sales, you can currently get both Steelbook Editions only directly from Amazon.
Even if you buy the Standard or Deluxe Edition from Amazon, you will receive a Steam key via email. Steam is required to play New World or create an account. By the way, this will also be the case for the upcoming Lost Ark.
New World is also only available for PC.
Early buyers get bonuses – No matter which edition
What are the pre-order bonuses? If you buy and thus pre-order New World before the release, you will receive a handful of exclusive contents that are identical for all editions. The Deluxe Edition thus has the same pre-order advantages as the Standard Edition.
These contents are available for pre-order:
- Isabella’s Amulet: An amulet that increases constitution and resilience and improves your damage against certain types of enemies
- The title “First Expedition,” which can mark you as a pre-order customer in-game
- The Fistbump emote, with which you can fist-bump other fans
- Three exclusive guild crests: One with axes, one with muskets, and one with armor
Artbook, world maps, and pets – What’s included in the editions
What is included in the different editions? In addition to the pre-order contents, there are of course also some goodies in the other versions worth having. We briefly introduce all editions to you.
