This evening, August 23, Destiny 2 will officially seal the fate of the Guardians and take a look into the future. The Witness, the new personalization of Darkness, is already planning the end of the great shooter saga. 6:50 PM: Finally, Bungie announced the next big raid starting Friday, August 26. Kingsfall. Therefore, we at MeinMMO will tell you how cool this raid is.
6:40 PM: Destiny 2 goes EPIC Store and confirms its cooperation with Fortnite and Fall Guys. To celebrate, Bungie is giving away the 30 Years of Bungie pack including a dungeon for free, so you can play it.

6:30 PM: Spider, Mithrax, his daughter Eido, and the Drifter make their debut in Season 18. A great pirate adventure awaits the Guardians in the new area “Star Sea”.
- 6-player activity “Ketch Crash”. Here you fight like Jack Sparrow on the deck of a pirate ship.
- You will need to reclaim treasures and, as the Fallen use Arc to attack, the Guardians will retaliate in kind.
- You can even start in Season 18 with an authentic flintlock pistol, just like the pirates from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Lightfall introduces a “System of Appreciation”
6:15 PM: A new Guardian rank system will be introduced. Bungie will also integrate what it calls a Looking-for-Group system in Destiny 2 for Lightfall. Players with a high Guardian rank can distinguish themselves as excellent leaders for content. A “System of Appreciation”, as Bungie calls it.
Bungie reports after the announcement to the new abilities of 5 million Guardians currently playing Destiny 2. And the new chapter in Lightfall is expected to let the Guardians dive even further into their own legend.
6:10 PM: “Strand” is the new ability that Bungie will introduce in Lightfall. The brand new ability will be an additional class of Darkness and offers unique movement. You will feel like Spiderman in space.
Titan

Hunter
The agile and daring Hunters are lightning fast on their feet and even quicker on the draw. Pull the trigger of your Golden Gun, fly like the wind through enemy groups, or strike from the darkness. Find the foe, aim, and finish the fight before it begins.

New Darkness Ability Confirmed and New Race
6:05 PM: Bungie gets right to the point: Right at the beginning, players get a first look at Destiny 2 Lightfall. It looks like a combination of Destiny 2 and Cyberpunk. Neon colors, razor-sharp, and with a lasso! The Witness, Calus, and other enemies are seen in the trailer. Additionally, Lightfall has a futuristic logo that looks modern and fresh.
Destiny 2: Lightfall + Annual Pass will cost 99.00 Euro on Steam.
6:00 PM: Justin Truman and Joe Blackburn officially open the reveal stream. The current elite of Destiny is now present. We are excited – are you too?
5:45 PM: Just before the start of the actual showcase, Community Manager Liana Ruppert is now talking to some former players, including Brandon Davis and Will “T” Taylor or Kelly Blodgett, who all work at Bungie today and have become part of the “family”.

When does it start? The reveal event started at 6 PM German time on August 23, 2022. That is one hour before the actual weekly reset at 7 PM. However, you could tune in from 5 PM and follow a small Destiny pre-show.
At 7 PM, the start signal for Season 18 will be given, and the Guardians can download the new content and log back in afterwards. Bungie has no major downtime planned for this.

Get an exclusive Twitch emblem for the stream
If you want, you can also snag an exclusive Twitch drop during the big reveal stream tonight. Bungie has created the glorious Starbirth emblem specifically for this reward.
Here’s how to get the emblem: To be eligible, you need to ensure your Twitch account is linked to your Destiny 2 account.
- Go to bungie.net and log in with your details. Click the icon in the upper right corner, select the platform you are playing Destiny 2 on, and enter your details.
- After logging in, you can click on your profile settings. You can access this via the player icon at the top right. Go to settings so you can reach the account settings.
- Under “Account Linking”, you will see all the available platforms that you can link to your Bungie account. So Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Stadia, and of course Twitch.
- Click on Twitch, and if you don’t have a pop-up blocker, you will get a window for linking.
- Then, simply log in to your Twitch account and click “Authorize”. Now Twitch is connected to Bungie and you’re eligible to receive the spacely exclusive emblem via the Twitch drop.
Once that’s done, you only need to watch the showcase for at least 30 minutes tonight to receive the new Starbirth emblem.
The community is excited about what Bungie will show: The players’ curiosity is currently fueled further by some leaks. So it won’t be long before Guardians find out whether there’s any truth to them.

There’s certainly not a long way left for the Guardians until the end. Things are getting serious in Destiny 2, as the Witness is getting closer and threatens not only the Traveler with his light but also the Guardians.
We know that Darkness is on its way to us. The Witness explained at the end of the “The Witch Queen DLC” that the game is now finished and the “Children of Sol” have suffered enough.
It is almost clear that the Witness wants to have the Traveler. And as a result, the last refuge of humanity could enter a state of siege because of the Pyramid ships. It would be grand and fatal at the same time.
