What has Bungie developed? With the launch of the first episode: Echos, players were able to find a new secret mission in the Bleached Heart of the Traveler: the Destiny Duel. In this mission, two players are sent to solve puzzles and secure the exotic class item of their equipped class.
With these class items, players can create diverse builds along with the new ultimate “Prismatic.” Many guardians rave about the new mission type and the difficulty of Destiny Duel, but some solo players in the community express their dissatisfaction.
Group players love it, solo players hate it
What are players complaining about? It’s about the new Exo mission “Destiny Duel.” After enduring a lengthy process to permanently activate the mission, the mission can be accessed through your star map in the Bleached Heart of the Traveler. However, there is a catch: the mission is designed for two players – understandable, as it is a duel.
If that wasn’t bad enough for solo players, communication is especially important. The mission is challenging and tied to specific mechanics that require communication. For players who prefer to play without a headset or keyboard, this is annoying, especially when they want to secure the item.
Many fans are therefore voicing their grievances on Reddit and YouTube. The following opinions can be heard:
- “The problem is what the problem has always been, Bungie listens to streamers and not to gamers, we don’t always want timers, mechanics, and high stress, we get that at work! Bungie, please respect our limited time.” – DragonGfunk

Other players, on the other hand, celebrate the mission and are glad that Bungie has finally put something in place that reflects the character of Destiny 1:

Do you always have to complete the mission? Actually, no. Every player who has completed Destiny Duel on their current character can easily farm the exotic class items in the “Nerf” activity in the Bleached Heart of the Traveler. You just have to walk around and open chests. Streamers like Aztecross talk about 15 minutes of effort to get one Exo. It’s worth it.
