The new weapon Exotic from Destiny 2 unleashes its full potential in 3 expert builds, turning your Guardians into true killing machines in PvE. MeinMMO presents the combinations for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters and explains the playstyle with the Traveler’s Chosen.
What are these builds? By combining the latest weapon Exotic from Season 11 with some mods, you can truly clean up in PvE. The best part is, the builds are virtually future-proof and can also cause chaos in Beyond Light.
The playstyle is not complex despite the high penetration power. You mainly just need to reload and you become an over-Guardian who has permanent ability energy, deals more damage, heals, or buffs the entire team.
The builds in this post are from expert Ehroar – who is a multiple-time “Destiny world champion” as part of the Redeem Clan. MeinMMO presents all components including playstyle for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters.
This weapon Exotic is the main component: The Traveler’s Chosen is a rather unassuming pistol for the kinetic slot.
But appearances can be deceiving:
- Its stats are absurdly high – its range surpasses that of its counterparts by a good margin
- The real magic happens with the exotic perks – you stack light and enjoy passive bonuses or consume the stacks while reloading to recharge all your abilities
In our detailed review of the Traveler’s Chosen, we were able to label the weapon as “equipable”. The only weakness is the lack of bonus damage – but that’s exactly where the builds come in and benefit enormously from the constant energy supply.
Warlock Build with the Traveler’s Chosen
Select the bottom focus of the Voidwalker with this gear:
- Surprise Attack Mod (costs 1x Void Energy)
- Quick Charge Mod (costs 5x Arc Energy) – we mean the mod from Season 11 that you receive from the Prism Shaper and is designed for pulse rifles, hand cannons, and SMGs
- Stacking Mod (costs 4x Void Energy)
- Lunafaction Boots
These 3 mods are used by all builds in this article. Here we explain what the mods in Season 11 are about. Ideally, the effects activate themselves upon killing and reloading – both fit perfectly with your weapon Exotic.
You also have enough free slots for customization. It is advisable to enhance the Voidwalker with the artifact mod “Overwhelming Darkness”.
Check out the exotic pistol Traveler’s Chosen in action here:
This is how you play the Warlock build: Consume a grenade to activate the Devour effect. Now you heal with every kill and regenerate energy. Afterwards, you just need to take out enemies with your pistol, stacking light charges and light stacks simultaneously.
- Your weapon buffs itself in the meantime
- Then reload – with 3 stacks the yield is most efficient – and you have extra damage
- Set up a damage Rift – this increases damage even further and doubles your range – you basically hold a power weapon that consumes primary ammo
Due to the interlocking of the skills, you always have a grenade to heal yourself again, and the Rift is also ready to use after a few kills.
Titan Build with the Traveler’s Chosen
Select the bottom focus of the Sunbreaker with this gear:
- “Surprise Attack” Mod (costs 1x Void Energy)
- “Quick Charge” Mod (costs 5x Arc Energy)
- “Stacking” Mod (costs 4x Void Energy)
- “Rasputin’s Fury” Mod (costs 1x Solar Energy)
- Sunbreaker bottom focus
- Phoenix Cradle
Once again, you have plenty of room for personal preferences. To perfect the fiery and explosive playstyle, you should equip the artifact mod “Solar Riff”.
This is how you play the build: Instead of consuming a grenade, throw it or perform a melee attack on enemies. Your kills will create Sunspots. These increase your damage when you pass through them and recharge your abilities.
- Through your exotic armor, Sunspots improve your entire team and you benefit longer from Solar bonuses
- Once again, you don’t need to worry about abilities energy and extra damage from the pistol – it regulates itself with reloading
- Additionally, you generate Warmind Cells even without Seraph weapons and take out an entire room full of adds with mini-nukes
If you wanted to see the world in flames, this build is just for you.
Hunter Build with the Traveler’s Chosen
Select the bottom focus of the Nightstalker and this gear:
- “Surprise Attack” Mod (costs 1x Void Energy)
- “Quick Charge” Mod (costs 5x Arc Energy)
- “Stacking” Mod (costs 4x Void Energy)
- “Overload” Mod (costs 5x Solar Energy)
- Mechanic Trick Sleeves
As a Hunter, you gather more maximum light charges compared to the other classes. Since you are using a Void focus, the mod “Overwhelming Darkness” is also advisable in Season 11.

This is how you play the build: Basically, the build plays out like with Warlock or Titan, but skips most of the support effects. Instead, the focus is entirely on risk and reward.
- First gather stacks and switch from your pistol to another weapon – don’t worry, all stacks remain intact. Let yourself get heavily injured
- Switch back to the Traveler’s Chosen and play as in the previous builds
- When you combine all bonuses, the damage is so high that even bosses melt in seconds
In many situations, however, you do not even need the enormous damage. You can also permanently use your dodge due to the fast ability recharge. This way, you remain invisible throughout the mission and are ignored by enemies.
Will you try out the presented builds? With the Traveler’s Chosen, you basically need no other weapon in almost any situation.
When it really comes down to it and you want to beat a boss, the Falling Guillotine, a legendary sword from Season 11 is recommended.
