In Fortnite, the new season of Chapter 3 has started and brought numerous changes. The most drastic of these is the disabling of the important building mechanic. What do you think of this major change?
Here’s what it’s about: The building mechanic is essentially indispensable in Fortnite. Or is it? With the latest update, the developer Epic has temporarily disabled this iconic gameplay feature in their battle royale game.
Accordingly, players can no longer erect buildings or cover for the time being. The disabling of the feature is even explained within the story of Fortnite, and in compensation, players gain more mobility and stronger shields.
Allegedly, building will return to the game on March 29 or 30, but this information came from data miners and is unconfirmed.
In the meantime, the community is hotly discussing the disabling:
- Some players welcome this change because it brings “fresh wind” into the battle royale. It demands aggressive gameplay because match participants can no longer “hide”.
- Other players are against the change and want it reversed soon. Building is the one feature that makes Fortnite unique, according to these players.
