But even in the third-person perspective, the latest CoD installment makes quite an impressive appearance, as a bug recently demonstrated.
How did this happen? Bugs are not always a bad thing; they can certainly contribute to entertainment or be quite funny. For example, a bug enabled a spectacular action sequence in the style of John Wick or turned weapons into dogs.
Now a bug has ensured that we have a rough idea of how CoD: Modern Warfare would look as a third-person shooter.
In a coop multiplayer match, the player and reddit user brandino4427 wanted to revive a teammate. But just during the corresponding animation, the injured player left the match, allowing brandino4427 to continue playing in third-person view.

Fans demand third-person as a feature: This is very well received by many players and celebrated. The corresponding reddit thread has already reached over 32,000 upvotes in just over a day.
And even though the third-person perspective comes about due to a bug – some want and demand this view as a feature or in the form of a limited-time mode for the game.
Some CoD veterans are getting excited and remembering the “Third Person Team Tactical” mode from Modern Warfare 2, where players could regularly play in third-person perspective. This playlist was very popular among many fans. Even in Modern Warfare 3, players could normally play in third-person view, but only in splitscreen or private matches.
Was or is third-person planned for Modern Warfare 2019? Some users highlight that the third-person gameplay actually looks too good for a mere bug.
The movements and camera handling are very fluid, and the view elegantly zooms to the shoulder when using the sight device – like in a real third-person shooter.
Some therefore believe that the third-person view could actually be a real feature – one that was either discarded or has not yet made it into the game.
