The latest dev blog post about The Division 2 provides insights into the True Sons, one of the enemy factions that will stand against you. Here’s what you need to know about the group.
As in The Division 1 there are several enemy factions in the second part that have settled in Washington D.C. Each of these factions has its own motives, hierarchies, and enemy types.
One of the new factions is the True Sons. This paramilitary group consists of a former JTF unit and lives by the motto that only the strongest should survive. Massive aims to make villains even more villainous in The Division 2. The True Sons exemplify this.

True Sons were founded from JTF and criminals
How did the True Sons come about? Colonel Antwon Ridgeway, as a member of the JTF, led a quarantine zone on Roosevelt Island and was responsible for maintaining order there.
However, the chaos and decay triggered by the virus had a strong impact on him. Ridgeway lost faith that the JTF could save Washington.
He is an advocate of discipline and authority and decided to take matters into his own hands. He positioned guards around the quarantine camp and ordered that no one be let out.

He redirected incoming resources, such as medicine and food, deliberately allowing many innocents to starve. The sick and weak were already as good as dead to him, so he kept everything for himself and his men.
This is how they broke away from the JTF: After the government and JTF became aware of his actions, Ridgeway was imprisoned in a military prison. But soon he was freed by loyal men from his former unit.
Ridgeway recruited the prison inmates and his loyal men to fight against the JTF. An example was made of the officers who had taken him prisoner. The True Sons were born.
“There is no place for weakness. Cowards die on their knees. It’s going to be great” – Antwon Ridgeway
With their military training and access to weapons and resources, the True Sons were able to rise to become a powerful faction in D.C. that will stop at nothing.

This is what to expect in fighting the True Sons
This is how they operate: Massive describes the True Sons as a disciplined and well-trained unit that approaches combat tactically.
- In combat, they spread out and attack from all sides
- They respond if you eliminate multiple targets
- They might abandon their tactics out of desperation and charge blindly
What types of enemies are there? The True Sons have a total of ten different enemy types, each with their specific characteristics. Unfortunately, there is no exact list yet, but some are already known.
For example, there is the Medic, who can revive allies and shock enemies with his shock pad. If you destroy his shock pad, all enemies in the vicinity will be affected by an electric shock.

In previously shown gameplay of The Division 2, you can see more enemy types from the True Sons.
Conflicts between factions and civilians are expected to play a significant role in The Division 2. Players will likely have an active influence on who gains the upper hand.
