In recent days, there have been many wild speculations about the next hero from Overwatch. Now the guessing game is over, as Blizzard has officially announced the latest hero and made her playable on the PTR!
As expected, the new hero is Torbjörn’s daughter Brigitte. She is a support hero and tries to follow in Reinhardt’s footsteps while also doing even more for her teammates. Like Reinhardt, she has a barrier shield and can even stun enemies that get too close to her.
Update for the PTR brings Brigitte to Overwatch PC: Patch Notes
Brigitte came with a new patch to the Overwatch test server and is already playable there, but only PC players can access the Overwatch PTR. Unfortunately, there is no way for PS4 and Xbox One players to test the new Overwatch character Brigitte just yet.
The PTR patch notes for Overwatch can be read here at Blizzard. However, there isn’t much else mentioned besides Brigitte.
Brigitte’s abilities in Overwatch
Let’s take a quick look at Brigitte’s abilities and her weapons:
- Flail: Brigitte’s melee weapon has an extended range, allowing her to hit multiple enemies with a single strike.
- Repair Pack: Brigitte throws a repair pack that heals allies. Healing that exceeds an ally’s maximum hit points grants armor instead.
- Whip Shot: Brigitte uses her flail as a ranged weapon and throws it at enemies, dealing damage and knocking them back.
- Barrier Shield: Brigitte activates a forward-facing energy barrier that absorbs a limited amount of damage.
- Shield Bash: When her barrier shield is active, Brigitte can charge forward and stun enemies.
- Rally: Brigitte moves faster and grants all nearby allies armor that remains until consumed by damage.
