Rank 4: The timelines are swapped

What happens in the series? Although Benedict is the second oldest of the Bridgerton children, four of his siblings have already married before him. In season 3, we mainly followed the love story of Colin and Penelope, who are now happily married and just became parents. Francesca also got married last season and has to find her way in her new life.
What happens in the book? The timelines are significantly different in the book. Penelope and Colin are not yet married, nor is Francesca. Particularly, Penelope suffers from having to look for a husband for another year. Benedict, who secretly finds Penelope sympathetic, wants to dance with her at the famous masquerade ball. However, he is distracted by the mysterious lady in silver. Feeling sorry for Penelope, who was left out, Colin steps in. The two only really come together a book later.
As Penelope’s story occurs later, it is also not yet known in the book that she is Lady Whistledown. Accordingly, Benedict cannot use her to find his unknown lover.
