Bots in World of Warcraft are often brazen. But nowhere is it as obvious and bad as in Classic. There, the cheaters simply fly across the entire world.
World of Warcraft has long had a problem with bots. Even if the plague seems to be somewhat contained in Dragonflight, it is particularly grim in WoW Classic and Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Here, bots are so prevalent that the economy of many realms has collapsed. A YouTuber has documented just how brazen these bots are.
What is shown in the video? The YouTuber AzAMOuS demonstrates how brazen bots operate on the realms of the Classic era. They are not only automated in farming resources, but also completely circumvent the laws of the game. In the video, you can repeatedly see mages using a “Fly Hack” and simply flying to Stratholme – and they are not banned even after days and weeks.

Why is this now a problem? The fans of WoW Classic are looking forward to the official Hardcore realms that are supposed to start soon. However, this special experience could be tarnished by the fact that bots not only ruin the economy but also cheat their way into advantages or simply extinguish the lives of other characters – and do so permanently, after all, it will be a hardcore game with only one life.
Since the bots can seemingly act unpunished in Classic, most have no reason to assume that things would be different on HC servers.
Why is Blizzard doing nothing? This is the big question that many WoW Classic fans are asking. Blizzard regularly publishes how many bots and accounts they have banned in the past weeks – but this seems to change very little about the visible situation on the realms.
Even the introduction of the WoW Token, which was supposed to serve as a weapon against gold sellers, seems to have hardly any benefit in the Classic version of WoW. Bots and gold sellers are still numerous, and some incidents – such as the ring worth 13,000 euros – raise further doubts about whether they really have the situation under control.
We can only hope that Blizzard will crack down harder and protect the Classic realms from such problems. Because most players demand this with the argument: “After all, I pay every month for the game.”
