The next legendary raid boss in Pokémon GO is known. Boreas from the “Forces of Nature” trio enters the game. We will tell you how strong the Pokémon will be.
This was announced: Together with numerous other events in February, Pokémon GO also announced the new raid boss. The flying Pokémon Boreas replaces Heatran.
When does Boreas come? The legendary Pokémon will appear in raids starting February 4 at 10 PM. For us in Germany, it will be available only from February 5, as there will be no more raids that late.
All info about Boreas – How useful will the raid boss be
These are its stats: To get an initial assessment of Boreas, we show you the stats for the legendary Pokémon. The special feature is that Boreas has 2 different forms.
First, the stats of the Incarnate form:
- Attack stat: 266
- Defense stat: 164
- HP stat: 188
- Max CP: 3345
This is what the stats of the Therian form look like:
- Attack stat: 238
- Defense stat: 189
- HP stat: 188
- Max CP: 3215
How strong will the Incarnate form be? This form will be the notably better form of Boreas. The attack stat of 266 is strong, and only a few flying Pokémon are better.
The major disadvantage of Boreas is that it can learn Hurricane. This move is significantly weaker than Air Slash, which makes Boreas worse than Pokémon like Krebscor, Rayquaza or Moltres.
Many trainers are currently hoping that Niantic makes improvements here. Some time ago, they also gave the Origin form of Giratina new moves, making the Pokémon really useful.
Nevertheless, it must be considered that flying Pokémon are generally weaker. Recently, they were needed against the raid boss Viridium, but otherwise, other types were usually better.

How strong will the Therian form be? This form of Boreas will not be significantly weaker, but the Incarnate form is stronger overall. This is due to the higher attack stat.
Like the Incarnate form, the Therian form suffers from the poor move Hurricane. If no adjustments are made here, this Boreas may not be worth much.
Which form of Boreas comes first? This is currently not entirely clear. Niantic only talks about Boreas as a whole in its announcement. It will show on February 4 which of the two forms will be available.
By the way, the other two members of the “Forces of Nature” are really strong in Pokémon GO:
