Today, on April 3rd, Gearbox developers want to reveal the release date of Borderlands 3. However, this has allegedly already been confirmed: by an advertisement on YouTube.
What does the advertisement show? An anonymous user has recorded an alleged YouTube advertisement for Borderlands 3. The clip shows a French advertisement for the shooter that displays the names of the protagonists and even a possible release date.
The release of Borderlands 3 is stated in the clip to be on September 13th – the date, that previously appeared in a now-deleted tweet from the developers.
Additionally, the text “Against the Calypso Twins and their friends” and “Discover new worlds” is displayed in French.
The advertisement also shows the alleged box art of the game. The cover and possible Collector’s Edition were also recently leaked.
Who are the protagonists? As in other main games of the Borderlands series, players can choose from four different characters that represent the classes of the shooter. The names of the new Vault Hunters are also visible in the YouTube advertisement.
- Moze (Soldier): Moze will be a soldier commanding a giant mech.
- Fl4K (Beastmaster): Fl4k will be able to summon three different pets. In the trailer for Borderlands 3 and also in the advertisement, he is seen with a Skag.
- Amara (Siren): Amara is the Siren in the team. The trailer shows that she can summon additional arms.
- Zane (Operative): Zane will work with all sorts of tools and gadgets. He can place decoys and lure enemies into traps.

What are the fans saying? In the Games Subreddit, there is mainly discussion about the display of the Epic logo in the advertisement. For some time now, there have been indications that Borderlands 3 will be exclusively released on the Epic Store.
However, players are putting the appearance of the logo into perspective: Some believe that the logo might indicate that the shooter uses the Unreal Engine. Additionally, the clip is very blurry. What is actually stated there is not clear.
