The third Borderlands 3 DLC has been announced! In “Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption,” you travel to a Wild West world. Additionally, the new Guardian Takedown has been introduced.
When is the third Borderlands 3 DLC coming out? The next DLC for Borderlands 3 will be released on June 25. This keeps the loot shooter true to its previous three-month intervals between DLCs.
Bounty of Blood makes you a western hero with a dino bike
This is the DLC: The new DLC is called “Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption.” You hunt the Devil Riders – a group of outlaws. This sounds like classic Wild West, and looks like it too: On a new planet, you fight your way through a western town.
The new location is supposed to be “a character of its own,” the developers explained in the Borderlands Show: In the saloon, a song will be sung about you, which develops throughout the DLC.
The theater shows a film, the film reels you have to collect yourself. The residents and the town itself are supposed to change based on your decisions. Players seemingly have more influence over their environment than before in Borderlands 3.
What’s new: In addition to the new environment, you will encounter completely new enemies with the Devil Riders. There are also new creatures that are supposed to make your life difficult.
Moreover, you will encounter previously unseen gameplay elements that you can exploit in battle. For example, teleporters that send you from one location to another instantly.
As a highlight, the new “Jet Beast” was introduced. This new vehicle will be exclusively in the DLC and is half jet, half beast. It glides elegantly over the new planet and has a ton of weapons on board.
What about old acquaintances? The developers explained that this time they want to put new characters – alongside your familiar vault hunters – in the spotlight. This takes the new DLC in a different direction than the first two, which relied heavily on familiar figures. A mysterious new narrator is also on board, who comments your story from the background.
New Guardian Takedown starts, will be tough again
When is the Guardian Takedown coming? Along with the DLC, the show also showcased the next takedown. The new Guardian Takedown starts on June 4.
This is the Guardian Takedown: The Guardian Takedown will be the new mammoth task in the game. Again, you should work together with multiple players to complete the raid.
Similar to the Maliwan Takedown, you will encounter extremely strong enemies. However, you will not only face new enemy types, but also have to complete some platforming sequences and puzzles.
In the takedown, you will experience reduced gravity, similar to the Pre-Sequel or Skywell-27. It is free for all players and will replace the cartel event. So make sure to grab the strong event weapons.
