In Borderlands 3 you can now level up to level 57 with the new update. The earlier you achieve this, the better – we will show you how it works.
Why should you reach level 57 quickly? Of course, leveling is not a priority for everyone. However, if you want to collect gear at the highest possible level, fast leveling is essential.
It’s almost frustrating to find a good weapon like the Ion Cannon now at level 53 and have hardly any use for it at level 57. Then you have to start farming all over again. There are also new weapons and gear in the new DLC – if you want them at the highest level, it’s best to level up first before starting the expansion. By the way: Since the new update, you will no longer receive weapons that are below the max level if you are at level 57.
However, there are places where leveling is very worthwhile. We present two that lead particularly quickly to leveling up.
Scraptrap Prime – The Compactor
What kind of place is this? “The Compactor” is a location you find in the DLC “Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot.” It is essentially a junkyard located beneath the actual casino. The place becomes accessible at a later point in the story in the first DLC. If you have already completed the DLC, you can return there at any time.
How can I level up here? Generally, you can find many Loader Bots in the area that provide a good foundation for leveling. However, it is especially advisable to farm the mini-boss Scraptrap Prime. You will first encounter him during the story – after that, you can challenge him as often as you like.
The catch: In addition to Scraptrap Prime, many smaller Scraptraps spawn, which you can dismantle quite easily. Several players have identified this spot as the perfect leveling location, especially when approaching it on Mayhem 4.
At this level, you can jump four levels between level 53 and 57 within half an hour, as players noted on Reddit – and then get back to farming. Additionally, Scraptrap Prime may drop a Lucky 7 – and it’s worth it!
Ring of Slaughter – Konrad’s Hold
What kind of place is this? If you don’t have the first DLC, you can’t farm Scraptrap Prime. A good alternative is the Rings of Slaughter. There are three of them: The Cistern of Slaughter on Promethea, the Slaughter Shaft on Pandora, and the Slaughter Star 3000 on Nekrotafeyo. You can see where to find all three in this video by AFGuidesHD (via YouTube):
How can I farm here? In the Slaughter Shaft, you will mainly encounter Children of the Vault in large numbers. They come equipped quite well – the Slaughter Shaft is not really easy. Especially if you are playing on Mayhem 4, it gets difficult. But just like with Scraptrap, you will reach max level quickly.
Alternatively, the other two Slaughter Rings are also suitable if you prefer the enemies there. In the Slaughter Star 3000, you will encounter Maliwan enemies who come with many shields and will eventually attack you with bots. The Cistern of Slaughter is inhabited mainly by beasts like Skags and Rakks and primarily requires fire weapons.
