The new DLC for Borderlands 3, “Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot”, has been available for a few days now. How is the expansion received? The initial reactions speak a very clear, positive verdict.
This is included in the DLC: Since last Thursday, players have been able to download the DLC. If you only consider the gameplay, the DLC primarily offers more of the familiar. Accompanied by twisted humor, you need to prove yourself against a lot of enemies and of course grab as much loot as possible.
New is the sparkling casino setting. Moxxi has sent you there to let the Vault Hunters take over the amusement center built by Handsome Jack. And his presence is certainly noticeable – even though he has been deceased for a long time.
Fans love the new DLC – what does it do right?
This is what the community says: The DLC receives very positive feedback on reddit. Players love the new casino setting and of course the constant quips from Handsome Jack. But the DLC also excels in other areas.
User Possum Soul says: “This DLC has literally something for everyone.” Especially fans of the old games are catered to by the DLC. The Loader Bots from Borderlands 2 are back, and fans of “The Pre-Sequel” will also be happy about a certain return. The story scores with a certain lightness and the new characters in the DLC add to the fun.
The runtime, if you only focus on the main quest, is about 5-7 hours. Additionally, there are several side missions. A decent amount, which offers a lot content-wise: “There were a few plot twists that I didn’t expect,” says user FakeGeek73 and draws a positive conclusion: “Overall, this DLC was a lot of fun. If the other DLCs are just as good, then I’m definitely in.” A verdict shared by many players.
What is received best: Besides all the new content, players are especially excited about one thing: The insane drop rates. Anyone who has played the DLC will have noticed that one finds a lot of legendary and anointed weapons. Especially the new weapons appear frequently – particularly when the Mayhem mode is activated.
“The new weapons are flying around here like candy,” user Whenthisbabyhits88 is happy to report. And user PrymethymeTV agrees – after all, he found a Lyuda just lying in a pile of bones: “The drop rate in the DLC on Mayhem 2 is just crazy.” So if you are looking for legendary weapons and don’t want to farm bosses constantly is the DLC just right for you.
Will the next DLCs be just as strong? At least the developers hope so:
