In Borderlands 3, players spend a lot of time collecting the best loot. It is all the more bitter when all the hard-earned equipment suddenly disappears. Exactly that happened to one player – but in the end, he had something to be happy about.
This is what happened: While Christmas is actually being celebrated in Borderlands 3, Reddit user “Jimmy2times13” experienced a nasty surprise. He reported with a post in the Borderlands subreddit.
The reason: Due to a glitch, his entire inventory and bank were emptied. All the rare weapons, shields, class mods, and artifacts painstakingly collected over the last months: Gone.
Many players complained about this problem especially in the early days of the game, but it was supposed to have been resolved after several patches. Nevertheless, it happened to Jimmy2times13 after all – and even the save file in the PSN cloud could not save the loot.
“I’ve been playing this game since day 1. It’s really my favorite franchise,” said the FL4K player in the comments: “I was almost done with everything I wanted for this character and was planning to start with Zane tomorrow. This is just crap, I was so ready with my blessed weapons for the DLC.”
He announced that he wanted to put the game down for a while now. But then the community intervened.
Community saves player – he is moved and wants to give back
This is how the community helped the player: Under the original post, many other Borderlands players reacted to Jimmy’s problem. They asked for his PSN contact and offered to send him some weapons. Also, FL4K players who pursued a similar crit build as Jimmy were involved and offered the appropriate weapons.
A little later, the second post from the player followed: “Guys, thank you very much! I had nothing left in my inventory and in the bank and now I have literally hundreds of items to go through – thanks to your generosity,” said Jimmy, who probably won’t put the game down after all: “I won’t forget who helped me and will soon start farming for all of you. You are amazing!”
Jimmy2times13 announced now how he wants to give back to the community: “I never expected such support. I got back almost everything I farmed for months from strangers I have never met and with whom I have never spoken or played.”
They are the reason why he is not giving up Borderlands 3 now: “I’m farming for you now! Every day I’m online, I’ll make a post asking what you need.” This way, he wants to pay back his “debts”.
Now he can start the DLC with peace of mind. The farming can then continue – after all, the Handsome Jackpot has a lot of loot to offer:
