Borderlands 3 has released a new update. Many minor issues have been resolved. However, more important are the promises made by the developers for future patches – including Mayhem 4. We will tell you what we know.
Borderlands 3 is regularly updated. This creates a good, but also bad atmosphere in the community. However, the developers promise to take the players’ wishes more into account with future patches.
Among other things, there will be a new Chaos Mode. We will also report on what improvements await you in November and December.
A new Mayhem Mode
What is Mayhem? The endgame of Borderlands 3 revolves around Mayhem, or Chaos in English. After the story, you can increase the difficulty and receive better loot. The mode comes in three levels, with Mayhem 3 being the hardest.
This is what is new with Mayhem 4: The developers do not want to stop at these three levels. A new challenge awaits you with Mayhem 4. You will encounter even tougher enemies and, of course, better loot. This should offer you new opportunities regarding your builds.
When will Mayhem 4 come? The new difficulty level is expected to arrive in the coming months. The associated update is called “Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite,” which is expected to launch this fall or winter.
This is what the future will bring
The current patch has improved many minor issues. Stability has been worked on, and some bugs have been fixed. However, the more important promises for future updates weigh in. Besides Mayhem 4, they are expected to bring:
- Increased performance and stability
- A larger bank
- Specific loot from bosses
- A dummy on Sanctuary 3
- Skippable cinematics
- More vending machines for health and weapons
This is a long list and one can be curious about how it will be implemented. Some improvements already sound more concrete than others.
What to expect from November updates: Major adjustments are expected in the next month. Above all, the first priority according to Borderlands 3 – performance and stability.
Also, the loot system is expected to change in November. For this, different bosses will have specific items that will no longer only be available as world drops. This way, you can target your legendary weapons.
This update you can expect in December: Towards the end of this year, a dummy will be accessible on Sanctuary 3. There you can test your weapons and builds without having to travel much.
These improvements do not have a set date: All other updates regarding cinematics, bank slots, and vending machines do not have a concrete date yet. In the patch notes on the Borderlands 3 homepage, some hurdles are mentioned.
Such hurdles are meant: Cinematics, for example, are often tied to quests and trigger progress. This is why developers need to tinker a bit more before there is a good solution for that.
However, Borderlands 3 promises to take even more account of the players’ wishes in the future. They also encourage reporting bugs and other errors.
