In Borderlands 3, there are new modes added with the latest patch that make the endgame more challenging. However, a nasty bug has also crept in.
This is the patch: With the patch, the Maliwan Takedown Raid and Mayhem 4 were introduced to the game. Both new additions are designed as challenging endgame challenges.
Along with that came many improvements, thanks to which the game now runs really well. However, with the patch some issues have evidently also arisen. One of them particularly affects the gameplay.
Players miss their Guardian Ranks
What are Guardian Ranks? The Guardian Ranks are an additional progression system that you can only unlock in the endgame. Here you gain bonus stats that make you even stronger.
Where have the Guardian Ranks gone? Many players reported after the patch that the Guardian Ranks simply are no longer active. This, of course, causes problems – especially since Mayhem 4 and Maliwan Takedown are already quite challenging. The missing perks complicate things even more – not to mention the regular gameplay: “My build is completely ruined because I rely on shield regeneration,” reports reddit user “TrippzUK“. He now has no shields about 90% of the time.
Players are facing difficulties: Due to the problems, it has become complicated when you are down and want to earn a second chance. On one hand, the targeting system doesn’t work properly anymore, and life is not replenished sufficiently. This is deadly on the new difficulties: “Mayhem 4 is virtually unplayable solo without the Guardian Ranks,” finds “BrinksTrucc“.
This is how Gearbox reacts: The problem has been noticed and is on the developers’ list, as announced on Twitter:
They are working to reactivate the perks as soon as possible. However, the developers could not yet provide a precise timeframe for this.
We hope that the problems are resolved quickly. After all, the atmosphere in Borderlands 3 is actually very good right now. Also, because players are looking forward to the first DLC:
