Cross-Play is highly requested by fans. It would make Borderlands 3 almost perfect for many. But is that even planned?
Since the official announcement of Borderlands 3, there have been many discussions and speculations about the game. One of the most eagerly awaited answers is whether Borderlands will support Cross-Play. This would mean that players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One could play together.
What Gearbox says about Cross-Play: The developers seem to be aware of Cross-Play and are discussing it. In a statement, it was said:
“Cross-Play is something we are looking into closely, but currently, we have nothing to confirm or announce.”
This is at least not a clear rejection and leaves hope that Borderlands 3 can ultimately be played cross-platform. However, one should not rely on it.

Microsoft inadvertently fueled rumors: A line in the Microsoft Store triggered the discussions. It was stated there that Borderlands 3 would support Cross-Play. However, this entry has since been changed. There is now no mention of Cross-Play. It is possible that it was simply an error.
How likely is Cross-Play? In principle, Cross-Play appears possible for Borderlands 3, as Sony has relaxed its barriers in recent months and allowed Cross-Play in games like Fortnite . Therefore, the general possibility exists.

When will there be more information? More concrete information about Borderlands 3 is expected in early May, as the developers want to showcase fresh gameplay then. They will surely answer one or two questions – and Cross-Play is burning under the community’s nails.
Would you welcome Cross-Play in Borderlands 3? Or are you and your friends playing on the same platform?
