If you want to complete the Maliwan Takedown in Borderlands 3 solo, you need the right skills. With this FL4K build, the raid is doable.
How hard is the Maliwan Takedown? The raid, which came with the big November patch, is actually designed for four players, each at maximum level. Accordingly, the task is difficult – and even under the right conditions, it is hard to complete the takedown.
However, some players have already shown that it can be done solo. Solo builds for Zane in Borderlands 3 and solo builds for Amara have been presented – today we will take a closer look at FL4K.
The YouTuber Dakquan managed to complete the takedown solo on Mayhem 4. Which skills did he use?
FL4K Solo Build for Maliwan Takedown
This is what the build looks like: The FL4K build from the YouTuber relies on the action skill “Fade Away” and resembles a Crit Build. As a pet, Dakquan uses the Spiderant. Unlike Amara and Zane, FL4K only requires two skill trees for this Maliwan Takedown Solo Build instead of all three. The skills are distributed as follows.
Hunter Skill Tree
You need these skills from the Hunter Skill Tree: From this skill tree, you first get the Spiderant as a companion – but in the Shmorer variant. This gives you more health, elemental resistance, and you also distribute fire damage. Additionally, these skills are included:
- Intergalactic Stalker
- No Trace Left
- Second Intent
- Hunter’s Eye
- Heads or Tails
- Big Game
- Dangerous Game
- Galactic Shadow
- Megabeast
The Hunter tree grants you many bonuses for damage, ammo regeneration, reload speed, and certain Hunter skills. Critical hits are particularly emphasized here. One point in “No Trace Left” secures additional ammunition on critical hits and is well spent. The Hunter is complemented by the second skill tree.
Stalker Skill Tree
You need these skills from the Stalker Skill Tree: The Stalker gives you the skill “Fade Away,” allowing you to cloak and distribute critical hits better. This is enhanced by “Until You’re Flat” to gain bonuses on health and speed. These skills are also included:
- Self-Repairing System
- Raging Attack
- My BFFs
- Leaking Wounds
- Getaway
- Hidden Machine
- Quick and Fluffy
- Rigid Stare
Among other things, this distribution ensures that your pets can have a significant impact on the battle. They distract enemies so you can deal more damage to them, and they can revive you if needed. A skill that is extremely important in the takedown. Additionally, there are several bonuses for damage here as well.
Weapons and Equipment
This is the equipment you need: Even with this build the Maliwan Takedown remains an extremely challenging affair. The right equipment is just as important as a good skill distribution. Dakquan heavily relied on Cryo effects during his run.
For weapons, he used a Dastardly Maggie and a Brainstormer – each with Cryo damage. Additionally, there is a Cutsman with corrosion damage, which is important for the fight against Wotan. Another Cryo weapon used is a blessed MIRV grenade, which is also intended to freeze enemies.
As a class mod, the Tallying Ranger Cosmic Stalker is worthwhile, significantly enhancing certain skills and providing more damage and reload speed. The artifact is also important: Dakquan used an “Ice Breaker Otto Idol” here. This provides extra damage against frozen enemies and also gives health points for each defeated enemy. As a shield, he uses the highly popular Transformer Shield in the takedown with FL4K.
Have you completed the takedown yet? Then you might already possess one of these legendary weapons – how do you get the others?
