In Borderlands 3, the big February patch goes live today. And it is packed with changes.
When is the patch coming? The patch is expected to be available on all platforms by midnight tonight. So by tomorrow morning, you will be able to use the new content. And there is quite a bit of it.
Max Level, Event, Cutscenes and more in the new patch
Here’s what’s in the patch: This week, the developers announced a lot of changes in the Borderlands show a lot of changes. The majority of this is now going live. It includes the following features:
- The new level cap: The existing max level will be raised from 50 to 53.
- Event shutdown: You can now disable content from limited-time events if you want.
- Skip button for cutscenes: You can now skip all scenes in the game as desired. Even the ones you haven’t seen yet.
- True Elimination Mode: Maliwan Takedown in its original form. Here, the takedown is played at the original difficulty rather than in the scaled difficulty.
- Guardian Ranks: You can now toggle Guardian Ranks on and off. This applies to individual perks as well as the entire system. So please remember to turn the system on when the patch is applied.
New event: The patch also brings the Heartbreaker event in time for Valentine’s Day. It features hearts that you can shoot. These can explode, drop loot, or temporarily turn enemies into allies.
The event is again accompanied by the Saurian Maurice, similar to Bloody Harvest. Depending on how many hearts you collect, you can earn rewards:
- 10 – ECHO skin “ECHOcadiogram”
- 25 – Weapon ornament “Cosmic Romance”
- 50 – Legendary Maliwan SMG “Terminal Polyaimorous”
- 75 – Vault Hunter skin “Heartbreaker”
- 100 – Legendary sniper rifle “Wedding Invitation”
However, you should hurry. The event only runs for a week.
Bug Fixes: Lastly, there are also a lot of bug fixes in the patch. This includes overall stability, as well as audio and performance issues that have been improved. Also, flawed missions and issues like “falling off the map” in Carnivora have been addressed. You can find more details in the official patch notes.
