Since the Halloween event “Bloody Harvest” started in Borderlands 3, the Vault Hunters are in a ghost frenzy. How is the event received?
This is Bloody Harvest: In Bloody Harvest, cursed enemies haunt the world of Borderlands 3. From the dinosaur Maurice, who has been aboard the Sanctuary since the event started for cultural exchange, you receive your mission: defeat a ghost.
This mission ultimately leads you to the boss Captain Haunt. However, to reach him, you must collect 25 units of ectoplasm. There are also plenty of challenges that reward you with various prizes such as skins. All of this comes as a free update – how is it received by the players?
How well is the event received by the community?
This is what players like about Bloody Harvest: Overall, many players express positive opinions about the event – after all, it is not a paid DLC, but a free update. Among other things, the fight against boss Captain Haunt is praised – especially since he is no longer silent.
In general, the Halloween setting is well received. Many small details persuade the players, such as the music in Bloody Harvest or quest giver Maurice, who has immediately gained fans in the community. Some hope that the dinosaur will play a role in upcoming events as well.
This is what is criticized: However, players also have some criticisms of Bloody Harvest.
The most frequently mentioned point is the fact that you cannot simply farm Haunt. To reach the boss, you must repeatedly collect ectoplasm – and this seems to literally get on some players’ nerves. “This is kind of a boring mechanic,” finds “thatguyonthecouch” on reddit – and hits the tone of several players.
Some wish that you could challenge Haunt again via fast travel after completing the quest for the first time. However, some players point out that the already relatively short event would be even shorter without the hunt for the ghosts.
A second point of criticism concerns the special weapons in the event. This specifically refers to the anointed weapons with “terror” effect. This is a new mechanic introduced during the event. Terror can take away your accuracy, but some weapons and items turn Terror into an advantage for you.
Some of the anointed weapons have this effect. The problem: Many players find that since the start of Bloody Harvest, there are hardly any anointed weapons with other effects that they are actually looking for. And that during the “Mayhem on Twitch” week, which was supposed to deliver more anointed weapons.
This is also criticized on “reddit“. Some wish they could simply turn off the event, including the ghosts, when they are not currently completing the Haunt quest.
The Bloody Harvest event runs until December. In the meantime, further updates are expected – including more Mayhem?
