The recently released Foundation update for the space online game No Man’s Sky contains an interesting surprise – hints about ground vehicles.
A player of No Man’s Sky analyzed the new Foundation update in detail and discovered a folder named “Buggy” in the files. This folder contains data about a ground vehicle that has not yet made its way into the game. The player was even able to extract the data and recreate the vehicle, integrating it back into the game. For this, he created a mod for the game. This means that whoever downloads the mod will get this buggy in the game – however, not as a controllable vehicle, but just for viewing.
Controllable ground vehicles? Bring it on! – Especially for Survival
Currently, it is unclear whether this vehicle might find its way into the online game at a later point. It would be desirable, as the survival mode has significantly improved with the Foundation update and now offers a challenge. A ground vehicle that allows for quick movement and provides protection would be a real relief.
So we hope that Hello Games has developed this buggy as a real, controllable ground vehicle but couldn’t finish it for the Foundation update. The many positive feedback from fans about this find should show the team the interest in the vehicle. If you don’t want to download the mod yourself, you can also watch a video of the buggy.
