For the new MMORPG Blue Protocol, a release in the West has now been officially announced to the delight of fans. The game focuses on story and PvE, characterized by an action-packed combat system.
So far, a total of 5 classes are known with which fans will get started in Blue Protocol. Some of them were also playable during the beta tests. In this article, you will find an overview of what the classes can do, as well as gameplay videos introducing the individual skills.
Aegis Fighter
What can the Aegis Fighter do? This melee class can be most closely compared to a paladin from classic MMORPGs. The Aegis Fighter battles with a sword and shield and also has access to holy magic.
Although Blue Protocol does not have a proper holy trinity system, the Aegis Fighter can most closely fulfill the role of a tank. He has a whole range of defensive abilities, including his ultimate ability, and can draw the aggro of enemies to himself.
- The ultimate ability grants additional defense, super armor, and HP regeneration. Using the ability heals the character and fills the shield gauge. While the ability is active, the Aegis Fighter can fill another bar through attacks that regenerates the HP of the group when used.
The class also has its own resource called “Shield Gauge,” which is necessary for blocking with the shield. While preparing to block with the shield, it is also possible to prepare a counterattack that will be executed immediately after the block.
For attack skills, the Aegis Fighter relies on holy magic, which he can perform simultaneously with his sword combos, for instance. However, he can also place an AoE area on the ground that continuously deals damage.
Blast Archer
What can the Blast Archer do? In contrast to the Aegis Fighter, this class prefers to stay at a distance and engages in mid- to long-range combat.
The Blast Archers are masters of team play. They can support their teammates by knocking back and stunning enemies with their shots, putting them to sleep, or even amplifying debuffs from other players and spreading them to multiple enemies.
Their repertoire also includes support skills like healing, which can be placed on the ground with an AoE sphere, or abilities to reduce cooldowns for group members.
Many abilities of the Blast Archer can also be charged. By holding down the respective button and then releasing it, the attack will deal more damage. This applies to both normal attacks and skills.
- The ultimate ability of the Blast Archer creates a gravitational sphere that pulls in enemies, making it easier to group them for area attacks.
Heavy Smasher
What can the Heavy Smasher do? This is the second melee class of Blue Protocol. The Smasher uses a large hammer in combat to perform powerful attacks, pull enemies closer, and even shoot.
Another similarity to the Fighter is that the Heavy Smasher has defensive skills that he can use to increase his defense. This makes the class “tankier” and helps survive at the front line.
The heavy attacks of the Heavy Smashers are slower, but they can throw individual enemies to the ground or stun them.
To perform their abilities, the Heavy Smashers need a resource called “Cartridge.” This resource must be used carefully in battle, as without it, part of the skills cannot be used.
The cartridges can be recharged with skills. If this is done with a completely empty cartridge clip, various positive effects can occur, such as additional bonus charges or buffs.
The ultimate ability of the Heavy Smasher is not yet known.
Spell Caster
What can the Spell Caster do? The Spell Caster is the traditional mage class that almost no MMORPG can do without. The Caster prefers to spend his time in the background, at a greater distance from the enemy, to be able to cast his spells in peace.
To use magic, the resource EP is required, which the Spell Caster can refill with a skill if it is completely used up in battle. The repertoire of abilities includes the usual elemental spells like fireball or ice storm.
Similar to the Blast Archer, the Caster can also charge his abilities, thus receiving a boost. This can simply be a damage bonus or also enlarged areas in AoE attacks or longer DoT duration.
The Spell Casters greatly benefit from team play with melee fighters like Aegis Fighter or Heavy Smasher. These can draw the aggro of the enemy while the mage stands back and can deal massive damage in peace.
- The ultimate ability of the Spell Caster summons a huge meteor that deals heavy area damage.
Twin Striker
What can the Twin Striker do? The third melee class of Blue Protocol is a strong DD. The Twin Strikers use two axes in battle to expertly chop their enemies into small pieces.
Their class mechanic revolves around combos. Normal attacks steadily fill the combo bar, which can increase the striker’s attack power by up to 130%. At the same time, the collected points can also be spent to use certain abilities.
To survive at the front line, the Twin Striker can buff his defense or drain the HP from his opponents. The basic combat flow of the Twin Striker involves dodging enemy attacks and using the resulting opportunities to deal massive damage. It is a “go in and out” combat flow.
Leveling up the tactical striker skills affects how often or how long they can be used. Axe attacks get additional strikes, and jumps can be performed multiple times in quick succession.
- The ultimate ability of the striker throws the opponent into the air. The character then dives onto the opponent, dealing heavy damage and absorbing its HP.
