The Blood Trolls are considered one of the potential allied races for WoW: Battle for Azeroth. Blizzard has now clearly stated its position on the matter.
When it comes to the upcoming expansion “Battle for Azeroth” for World of Warcraft, many discussions revolve around the allied races. After all, there are supposed to be more races joining each faction throughout the addon. One of the potential races is the Blood Trolls, who initially appear as adversaries. Blizzard has now made it clear that Blood Trolls are not planned as an “Allied Race”.
What Blizzard says about the Blood Trolls: In an interview with IGN at E3 2018, Blizzard was not definitive in its words and left much room for speculation about whether the Blood Trolls could become an allied race. Community Manager Ornyx then spoke up in the forum and clarified that “Blood Trolls are currently not planned as an allied race.” The interview was a bit wild, and several topics were quickly mixed up, especially concerning the interactions of the Zandalari with the Blood Trolls.
What are Blood Trolls? In Battle for Azeroth, there is a splinter group of trolls who call themselves Blood Trolls. This group serves – as the name suggests – dark powers and attempts, among other things, to free G’huun and satisfy him with as cruel blood rituals as possible.
Parts of the community are not deterred by this statement and suspect that Blizzard just wants to “hold back a bit” so that more people can later enjoy the Blood Trolls. So far, however, there are no signs that they will ever become playable.
