In less than a month, BlizzCon 2017 will take place. The schedule is now set. Blizzard is luring visitors with all sorts of news and tournaments at this year’s fair – including the new expansion for the flagship World of Warcraft. Here are the dates and details.
As every year, BlizzCon will take place in Anaheim again this November. For many fans, this is often a stronger reason to be excited than the local gamescom. Now that host Blizzard has published the schedule, we have compiled the highlights for you.

Friday, November 3, 2017
- Opening Ceremony (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
- World of Warcraft – What’s next? (8:30 PM – 9:30 PM)
- Blizzard Social – What’s next? (9:30 PM – 10:30 PM)
- LoreCraft – The Art of Storytelling (9:30 PM – 10:30 PM)
- Overwatch – What’s next? (10:45 PM – 11:45 PM)
- The Voices of Blizzard – The Strong Women of Warcraft (10:45 PM – 11:45 PM)
- Authors in the Spotlight – How to Bring Books to Life (11:00 PM – 11:45 PM)
- World of Warcraft – Insight into Gameplay (12:00 AM – 12:45 AM)
- Competitions (Saturday morning 2:00 AM – 4:30 AM)
This year, it is particularly interesting that the voice actresses of the female heroes of World of Warcraft will have a whole slot. As Jaina has already been announced as the face of BlizzCon, this event seems to hold even more. The authors’ event also has its reasons: Author Christie Golden is now permanently employed by Blizzard.
The WoW events will also be important. After information about the release of the new expansion has already leaked, it will likely be announced directly at 8:30 PM. Information about the current patch 7.3 for Legion, as well as for 7.3.2 and the Antorus raid, will certainly follow.
In addition to information on Overwatch and WoW, there will also be a preview for Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and Heroes of the Storm. The latter will also feature a competition of viewers against developers and streamers.

Saturday also offers many options that unfortunately often overlap. In addition to insights into working at Blizzard, the company provides a glimpse into career opportunities. A special note here is that in the “Workshop on Boss Design,” a new dungeon boss will be designed by the community.
The Overwatch “Streamer Showdown” is another highlight where well-known faces from the scene will compete against each other in a battle of wits. In the following “Look at the Overwatch League,” new information about Blizzard’s upcoming tournament will be revealed, which many have been waiting for.
However, the whole day is focused more on the behind-the-scenes view at Blizzard. Most of the important announcements will be made on Friday.
