Fans of the Diablo series can look forward to the coming days, as Blizzard announces new details about Diablo 4. Additionally, Community Manager hints at new player tests.
When will there be news? The next developer update for Diablo IV is already on the horizon. These “Quarterly Updates” are expected to be released each quarter, and it was indeed time in the last week of March.
There are also teasers from the Community Manager that we are slowly reaching a point where testing is more important. We will show you the new information here in overview.
Next Quarterly Update for Diablo 4 brings art and videos
This is known: On Twitter, Community Manager Adam “PezRadar” Fletcher announced on March 22 that the new Quarterly Update will be released next week. So in the time from March 28 to April 3. The tweet states:
“I am looking forward to the blog post about the Quarterly Update of Diablo IV next week. The team delves into the environmental graphics. […]” They want to focus the update on the artistic aspects of D4. Additionally, there will be “a lot of eye candy and videos for you to watch.”

You can expect some nasty videos if we are to believe the statements from Rod Fergusson. Diablo 4 is said to offer “material for nightmares.”
Players should test themselves, not just read
When will the tests come? On reddit, the announcement of the quarterly update was discussed, and there PezRadar also spoke up again. In the comments, he suggests that they are preparing for player tests:
We usually have some system updates in various blogs, but I also think we are reaching a point where it becomes harder to understand these things, and therefore harder to gather valuable feedback based on what people interpret.
We will continue to publish updates in these blogs, and they will constantly evolve until the release, but it may be better for people to experience and play them in tests to gather such feedback.
There will be plenty of time for that once we enter the testing phase. I am definitely looking forward to it 🙂
