Shortly before the release of the new patch 10.2.5 “Seed of Renewal” in World of Warcraft, there is a video. It summarizes what you need to know about the upcoming update and gives you an insight into the new rewards you can grab.
The most important new features summarized:
- Dragonriding is now possible everywhere in Azeroth and you can choose whether to fly “normally” or “dynamically”. Dracthyr can use their racial ability for this.
- A new flying event with rewards has been added to the shattered world.
- The story continues after the current raid Amirdrassil and new quests prepare the next expansion The War Within.
- The reconquest of Gilneas comes as an event with new rewards.
- Night Elves receive a new capital: Bel’ameth, which even Horde players are allowed to visit. In Bel’ameth, there are portals to Feralas and Darkshore.
- You can tackle “Follower Dungeons” solo or with up to 3 teammates, where NPCs take on any role.
- The archives of Azeroth are bringing back the long-lost archaeology profession as an event.
- trolls and draenei receive new customization options.
- Many holidays are getting an update.
When will Patch 10.2.5 be released? The patch will be released on Tuesday, January 16, or in Europe on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Depending on whether there are extended maintenance times, the servers should be ready to play by around 9 a.m.
New rewards in Patch 10.2.5
For many of the new activities, you will receive cosmetic rewards. In the Outland Cup, the dragonriding event in the shattered world, you will receive a new transmog set.
In the reconquest of Gilneas, you can also earn transmog pieces and a new mount. However, we do not yet know what it will be. You start the event in Silverwood with Genn Greymane or Calia Menethil.
The archives of Azeroth bring similar rewards as archeology back then. For the excavations, you will receive cosmetic gear, battle pets and mounts. New is that there are also group excavations that you can tackle together with other players.
