In Diablo 4 all players want to reach maximum level as quickly as possible in a new season. Even in Season 2, the rush to level 100 was great, but fans did not need the necessary 180 hours – it was much less.
How long does it officially take to reach level 100? Already at the release of Diablo 4, fans asked themselves how long it takes to reach level 100, the maximum level of the hack & slash.
Blizzard had a clear answer and mentioned over 180 hours – that’s more than 7 days, during which you would have to play to push your hero to the maximum level. That’s a long time, especially for players who can’t play every day. Season 2 started on Tuesday and with it a new ladder run in which it is about reaching the maximum level as quickly as possible.
If you were preparing for a long marathon, we have to disappoint you, the ladder resembled a sprint.

Players need less than 19 hours
How long does it really take for the maximum level? According to the gaming site mmorpg.org.pl, the first players reached the maximum level already after 19 hours. On the tracking site d4armory.io, there are already 153 players in normal mode and 33 players in hardcore (as of October 20, 10:27 AM) who are running around with heroes at maximum level in Season 2.
Compared to the release, this has drastically decreased, because one of the first players who achieved this was Rob2628, and he was able to level up his hero in about 54 hours. After players studied the mechanics behind XP gain, it was only a matter of time before players could further push the record.
Which builds are at the top? Among the top 10 in softcore of Diablo 4 Season 2, especially the classes of the Necromancer, Hunter, Barbarian, and Sorcerer can be seen. All Necromancers use Bone Spears, Hunters come with Cutters, and Barbarians use Upsurge in battle. Sorcerers split into Firewall and Frost Nova builds and thus place themselves in the ladder.
In Hardcore, a greater build variety can be seen. The Necromancers went into battle with a Blood Wave and Bone Spear build. Hunters again strolled through Sanctuary with Cutters, but some used traps as additions while the rest relied on infusions. Two Sorcerers used Lightning Spears, and the last one used a Firewall build.
Lastly, the Barbarian again placed among the best with an Upsurge build. It is interesting to see that no Druid made it into the top 10 fastest players, even though it possesses strong defensive skills – perfect for survival in hardcore.
