The 20-player raid Zul’Gurub is starting soon in WoW Classic. But a “fresh” battleground is also coming, along with many new world bosses.
Recently, we reported on the launch of a test realm for World of Warcraft Classic and now it is finally available. Here, upcoming content is being tested, including the raid Zul’Gurub and the battleground Arathi Basin. At the same time, Blizzard revealed when this content from “Phase 4” of the release plan will go live and be available to all players.
What is the Arathi Basin? The Arathi Basin is a battleground for a total of 30 players (15 vs. 15). It is a capture-and-hold mode where both factions must capture and hold a total of 5 control points to generate points. The more points a faction holds simultaneously, the more points the team accumulates and thus achieves victory faster.
When does the Arathi Basin come out? According to Blizzard, the Arathi Basin is set to launch in the week of March 10, 2020. For us, that should be March 11, so right after the maintenance work from Wednesday morning. Then PvP fans will finally get some variety from Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch.
What is Zul’Gurub? Zul’Gurub is the first 20-player raid in World of Warcraft Classic. It is located in the Northern Stranglethorn and presents a tough challenge for medium-sized raid groups. The most famous boss from this raid is probably Hakkar the Soulflayer. He was not only known for his cool fight but also for the Blood Plague, which wiped out entire servers in WoW Classic.
When does Zul’Gurub come out? Zul’Gurub does not have a fixed release date yet, but according to Blizzard, it is expected to start in April. So it’s less than 2 months until you can finally step into the great troll city and grab new loot.
How can you participate? If you want to try out the new content right now, you need to log in to one of the test realms. To do this, you simply switch from “World of Warcraft Classic” to “PTR: World of Warcraft Classic” in the launcher version of WoW. After downloading, you can get started right away; participation is open to all players.
Are you looking forward to the new content in WoW Classic? Is the speed of the new releases good? Or is it all too fast for you?
