At the very end, long after the campaign, the “true final boss” of Diablo 4 awaits you. Or would, but Blizzard has deactivated him at the moment.
What kind of challenge is this?
- Blizzard has already revealed that there is a tough final boss waiting at the very end of Diablo 4.
- This boss is designed for level 100, and you will only see him at World Tier 4 (Torment) in a special dungeon called the “Pinnacle Challenge.”
- For the moment, however, the fight is not available. Blizzard is working on an issue.
Update, June 8: The Pinnacle Challenge has been adjusted with a hotfix and is available again.
Update, June 9: Additionally, the expert Wudijo attempted the challenge for the second time and this time was defeated – 150 hours of gameplay gone.

What makes the boss so hard? You fight against the echo of Lilith in the challenge, who returns as the “Incarnation of Hatred” after her defeat in Act 6 – with significantly more life and new abilities.
Over several phases, you will have to fight her and some minions, using mechanics similar to a boss from an MMORPG. She keeps disappearing and covering the entire platform with abilities that you must evade.
The fight requires you to find an optimal balance between offense and defense in your build while also being mobile enough to evade. One of the best players in the world, Wudijo, has already tried against the boss at level 80, but was defeated multiple times after over an hour (via YouTube).
Although the first players are already at level 100, even in hardcore mode, currently no one can face the echo of Lilith. Because the challenge is locked.

Blizzard locks “Pinnacle Boss” due to loot issues
In the official forum, community manager Adam Fletcher writes that the team is currently working on fixing a few items related to this boss fight. This was on June 6, the official release of Diablo 4.
How long it will take or which items are specifically involved, Fletcher does not say. However, a helmet should be obtainable from the Lilith echo, which will be the best item for almost all classes. Whether there are other loot sources for this is not confirmed so far.
The team will provide an update as soon as they know more. However, the majority of players probably won’t even be close to the challenge yet. Leveling to level 100 will take several days for the average player, even though some elite players are already complaining that there is too little to do:
