Yes, it is true. A Diablo series is making its way to Netflix. In addition to Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal, you should also be entertained by the franchise via streaming.
What is new? As Gamespot.com reports, Diablo and Overwatch from Blizzard will each be animated in their own series. The confirmation can be found on the LinkedIn profile of Nick van Dyk, who is the Co-President of Activision Blizzard Studios. He previously worked as a producer on the Netflix original series Skylanders Academy.
What kind of Diablo series will it be? The official information is sparse. The series will have an anime style and is still in pre-production. On the profile, van Dyk writes about his work experience:
Executive producer of Diablo, a TV adaptation of the IP from Blizzard Entertainment, which will be rendered in an anime style. The show is currently in pre-production for worldwide distribution through Netflix.

The release of the series is still a ways off, as work is still ongoing in pre-production. Rumors about such a series have been around for a while. In August 2018, Blizzard announced “multiple Diablo projects“.
In September 2018, a screenwriter talked about his work on the Netflix series. It is said to have received an R-rating.
Later, he tweeted again something that many associate with the Diablo series. The project is “super cool”.
What do we know about the Overwatch series?
This is what van Dyk writes: In addition to the Diablo series, information about an Overwatch project can also be found on the LinkedIn profile of the Co-President. He writes that he developed and sold a series based on Blizzard’s Overwatch IP.
It is unclear who bought the series and how it will proceed now.
Animated short films featuring characters from Overwatch are well received by players. The announcement cinematic for Overwatch 2 has already garnered nearly 1 million views on the German YouTube channel. The video on the main channel has nearly 12 million views.
Hope for a Netflix series about Overwatch was also sparked by this fan trailer in 2017.
Both titles, Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, are currently in development. What we know so far about the release of Diablo 4 and the release of Overwatch 2.
