Diablo 4 will be released in early June and developer Blizzard has something special planned for the toughest players.
What kind of action is this? In a blog post, the creators of Diablo 4 announced that the first 1,000 players to reach level 100 in hardcore mode will be immortalized by engraving in a Lilith statue.
Specifically, “your BattleTag will be engraved into a physical statue of Blizzard’s choice.” How you can have a chance at the engraving, we will show you here on MeinMMO.
Diablo 4 launches on June 2 for preorders of the Ultimate Edition and on June 6 for all other players. Here you can find all info about the release and here the live-action trailer:
How can you participate? There are no major requirements. If you manage to be among the first 1,000, that’s enough. You must then prove your success on Twitter:
- By May 26, you must be at least 18 years old
- Battle.net account in good standing, not banned
- You must own a license for Diablo 4
- Reach level 100 in hardcore mode / title “Tempered Champion”
Then you need to post a tweet with the following content:
- Hashtag #Diablo4Hardcore
- Full Battle.net BattleTag
- Picture or video proof
The action runs until early September or until 1,000 players have reached the milestone. It will be a tough race against time – you can find more details in Blizzard’s English blog post (via blizzard.com).
Even during the beta, some of the best players proved that the hardcore mode does not scare them. Some even defeated the 12-player boss in hardcore mode.
In hardcore mode, your characters are lost if they die. You can never play them again. The big challenge is to survive until level 100 without dying once. Otherwise, the competition may already be faster.
However, Blizzard has not revealed what kind of statue it is. It is only said, “a physical statue of Blizzard’s choice.”
A great action that will likely motivate many fans. However, there will certainly be one or two who curse the action – if you really want to pull this off, the fun of the game will likely suffer in the first days.
