The announcement of Bless Unleashed for Xbox One has raised questions. At PAX West, the MMORPG was showcased to demonstrate that this is not Bless Online for console.
The gaming convention PAX West was able to clarify some points regarding the newly announced MMORPG Bless Unleashed. Because what was playable made it clear according to the site MassivelyOP that Bless Unleashed and the PC MMO Bless Online are two different titles.
Similar appearance, different gameplay
Two different MMORPGs: “The biggest difference between Bless Unleashed and Bless Online is that both games are totally different,” explained Lead Producer Jehanzeb Hasan at PAX West. This should make it clear what the situation is. Bless Unleashed is not Bless Online. Although the games look very similar because they share graphic assets like models and textures, the gameplay is different in both titles.
Demo specifically for the convention: Bless Unleashed was playable at PAX West. However, Round 8 Studio developed a game section exclusively for the convention. What was shown did not actually come from the final game. What was showcased included:
- A small area where a battle against orcs took place
- A boss fight against a cyclops that shot laser beams from its eye
- Playable classes were Defender, Berserker, and Ranger with placeholder voice acting
Bless Online and Bless Unleashed differ
Many differences from Bless Online: The playable demo of Bless Unleashed showed, according to MassivelyOP, that it is a different game from Bless Online.
- The lore is told from a different perspective
- The developers referred to Bless Unleashed as a “parallel world”
- The focus is not on politics but rather on a story revolving around divinity
- The battles occur without tab-targeting
There were still some issues: The Berserker and Ranger were played. Some issues became apparent during gameplay.
- It was almost impossible for the Berserker to miss an opponent, which made the battles very easy
- The Ranger’s combos were very fun, but it was not possible to dodge hits
The developers noted that this would be related to the game’s PvP, but that it is still a work in progress.
According to MassivelyOP, players who know Bless Online should not expect the same game from Bless Unleashed. Even though both MMORPGs look quite similar, they are two different titles.
