The weekly letter from the Bless Online producers discusses this week the players’ .ini hacks and optimization.
In the weekly “Producer Letter,” the Executive Producer of Bless addresses the fans directly and talks about the future of the game for the coming weeks and months. This week, he addresses a problem that has plagued fans since the game’s release.
The performance problem
Bless is not running smoothly yet. At the release of Bless Online, the game ran poorly on many computers. Therefore, performance guides became very popular, which showed players how to manually edit the game’s .ini files to disable less important graphic processes, thereby improving the overall performance of the game.
Players who used these guides performed a one-time check of their .ini files on their computers against the .ini files from the internet before starting Bless. A cumbersome process that Neowiz wants to simplify.
Neowiz is working on performance
Bless should run more smoothly. According to the open letter, the team is working internally on solutions so that players no longer have to modify the game’s .ini files to play. They want to unlock more settings in the in-game options menu so players have more control over performance.

Additionally, the team has identified some issues that significantly impact the game’s performance, which are addressed by modifying the .ini file. There are apparently issues with the UI Manager and level streaming. Furthermore, the team wants to remove unnecessary files to improve performance.
The servers should be more stable. Performance issues in Bless Online are not only due to the optimization of the game client. The netcode must be well-written, and the servers should run stably. It seems that there are problems with Bless in this regard. Particularly at the launch of Bless, there were almost daily server maintenance sessions to improve server stability. To find the causes of the poor performance, the team will conduct a stress test in a separate testing environment in July.
There’s also the hacking problem…
Neowiz is asking for your help. This week, community specialist Penta the Panther called on the official Discord channel for players to send videos of hacking players to the team so they can take action against them.

Players reacted differently to this. Some welcomed that Neowiz is dealing with the issue and taking action. Others see it as evidence that Neowiz has no real means to detect hackers in Bless Online. They suspect that Neowiz relies on players’ help to identify hackers.
Neowiz is swinging the ban hammer. The help of the players seems to have worked. The team of Bless has been busy in recent days and has banned hacking players. Neowiz thanks the players for their help in identifying hackers and clarifies that hacking violates the terms of service of Bless Online and will be punished with a permanent ban.
The poor performance is one of the things that players criticize about Bless Online. Player numbers for Bless have drastically fallen: These are the problems.
