Bless Online becomes Free2Play at launch – and that is soon

The MMORPG Bless Online has been in Early Access on Steam since May 28. However, this will soon come to an end. And there is a major change: The upcoming launch will coincide with a Free2Play transition. 

The development studio Neowiz has repeatedly stated in recent months that the official launch of Bless Online will take place later this year. And this promise will be kept.

The release is imminent

When does the MMORPG start? The official launch will take place on October 23 – and as a Free2Play game! By then, Bless Online should be in a state that can no longer be described as “Early Access”.

Now Free2Play: Initially, it was said that Bless Online would probably be a Buy2Play title. That is no longer the case. Neowiz has changed its mind and presumably hopes that a Free2Play product will be more successful. Neowiz describes the new model as follows:

• Future content updates will be released for free
• The focus will be on optional, but paid cosmetic items
• Additionally, it will be possible to subscribe for benefits such as an XP boost and exclusive costumes
• Further costumes and items can be purchased with the in-game currency Lumena or through Activity Points earned in dungeons and battles
• Neowiz describes the model as “Always fair, never Pay2Win”

What do the developers say about the launch? Sungjin Ko, Executive Producer of Neowiz Bless Studio said in a press release:

It has been a long road, but we are excited to finally release Bless Online on Steam this month. We believe that the Free2Play version of Bless, with all the improvements we have made since the beginning of Early Access, will represent a promising start for the game’s lifespan in the West. We have a lot of new content and can’t wait for our loyal players to see what’s next for the world of Bless.

Is the MMORPG ready? 82 percent of user reviews for Bless Online on Steam in the past 30 days are negative. The player numbers are declining. Correspondingly, the customer comments on Steam are as follows:

• The performance is still lacking
• The class balance is off, making the PvP part difficult
• The gameplay is far too slow
• Previous updates often did not bring the desired results or worsened the state of the game even more

All of this currently paints a poor picture of the MMORPG. Will all this be improved by October 23 to the quality we expect from a launch product?

An update before the launch

From today, the new update 2.2.0.0 for Bless Online is available to you. This offers:

• The Patala Raid for high-level players is being introduced
• New boss enemies and loot are making their way into the MMO
• The Halloween event starts and gives you rewards for logging in, including 50 sapphires, 350 rose stones, and 230 beryls, as well as a magical pet and mounts, skins a skill change token for a companion and more.
• New Halloween quests with Jack-o-Lanterns and the Witch Raven

After October 23, we will know in what condition Bless Online will officially launch and how the fans will react to the MMORPG.
