The MMORPG Bless is not dead after all. The hope for a port to Europe and thus to Germany lives on.
Good news for Ascension Day – it’s actually more of an Easter story. Bless has returned from the dead. It took seven days. Now it’s clear: Bless lives.
The Korean MMORPG Bless was supposed to be brought to North America and Europe by the Berlin publisher Aeria Games, but this took a long time. Bless was to be fundamentally overhauled by Neowiz in South Korea. Aeria Games didn’t want to take any action or proceed with localization until then.
Fans have been worried for months about whether the port would happen, and indeed: Seven days ago, Aeria Games announced the final end. They had terminated the contract with Neowiz. They would not be bringing Bless to the West.
Aeria Games’ statement even implied that Neowiz would also abandon development of the game. However, that is no longer the case.
Bless comes to Europe – Neowiz will do it themselves
In a statement from Neowiz to the US site mmorpg.com, it now says: “We are bringing Bless to the West ourselves!”
After the end of the contract with Aeria Games, Neowiz believes that the fans of Bless in Europe and North America are valuable to them, and therefore they want to deliver Bless to them themselves now.
At the end of the business relationship with Aeria Games, it was said that they had issues with performance and the combat system. Neowiz thought that with the right polish these problems could be solved and the port to the West could succeed. Therefore, Neowiz continued to work on Bless, but needed more time. Aeria Games did not want to give this time. Neowiz respects that and will now bring Bless themselves.
Neowiz currently has no specific timeline or even a release date to share with us.

Mein MMO says: These are indeed nice news for Corpus Christi. The concerns about the game remain, of course, and have rather grown. For fans waiting for a “classic MMORPG” with high production values, it’s still good news. However… from the development, it becomes clear: Bless will likely come to Europe even later than previously assumed. It sounds more like “Sometime late in 2018” now, based on these reports.
Aeria Games did not want to wait that long. Hopefully, the fans have more patience.
