The Asia MMORPG Blade and Soul will find other ways to deal with cheaters.
On reddit, there was a large Q&A session with the developers of Blade and Soul. A sensitive topic: “Gameguard”, the controversial protection of the game against manipulative interventions.
Here, NCSoft has assured that even though they temporarily disabled it, they still regularly catch wrongdoers: “This is not the only tool we have in the box. We also use other tools and made a breakthrough last week, banning many of the well-known cheaters.”
Other topics:
- For costumes, you will be able to design your own as well as import those from other regions.
- Maintenance times for the servers will likely remain unfavorable for Europeans. The EU servers will have to be maintained together with the US servers. This requires the structure.
- Options for a gender or race change are currently not planned, but that could change.
- The Warlock (Pactitioner) will come in the “post-nerf” version.
- No information is available yet about the launch of the next class “Soul Fighter.”
- In the long term, they are working on a server transfer system. This is a new feature for Blade and Soul and will require quite a bit of work. So it won’t be ready anytime soon. There are no plans for a server transfer across the ocean from EU to NA.
