In Blade & Soul powerful and unreleased items have appeared in the game world. The culprits were NCSoft employees who had used GM tools to cheat these items onto their accounts.
In Blade and Soul, the Kung-Fu MMO from NCSoft, the community was in an uproar. Because previously unreleased items with particularly good stats had suddenly appeared in the game. Of course, hackers and manipulative software were quickly suspected, but it got worse.

Investigations by NCSoft revealed that it was likely two “Support Agents” who had used their available GM tools to cheat items for their personal accounts. Therefore, Community Manager “Rukkirii” also released a statement on the official Blade & Soul forum regarding the issue and announced consequences for the affected culprits. It is against the guidelines to use the tools for personal characters.
Additionally, Rukkiri warned about tools offered online that allegedly allow players to obtain better items or duplicate items and urged the community to be particularly vigilant.
Even before the release, NCSoft employees had stirred up discontent within the Blade and Soul community, because they were using their privileges to reserve particularly sought-after names before anyone else.
