Which games are similar to Blade and Soul?
While playing Blade and Soul, I noticed some parallels to Guild Wars 2 . This came to my mind before all other games. Probably because it’s still fresh in my mind through Heart of Thorns. Blade and Soul has nothing to do with WoW , as it is much more in this action direction. Although I had no Tera flashbacks, strangely. It didn’t remind me at all of WildStar or TESO; indeed, it reminded me most of GW2.
Who should definitely check out Blade & Soul?
One should definitely like the Asian style, preferably have always wanted to play the lead role in a kung fu movie. Otherwise, Blade and Soul is definitely a high-quality AAA game, it looks fantastic, it’s really entertaining and fun. Yes, and compared to Western games, it has a different, more liberal aesthetic.
Conclusion: Highly interesting F2P MMORPG for 2016 with some alarm signals.
I definitely feel like continuing to play after the first 20 levels and checking it out further. That wasn’t always the case with the last games.
I really do have concerns about the Free2Play elements. I would have fewer concerns if the game were Buy2Play or a subscription model, but it’s Free2Play, and free-to-play MMORPGs usually have “difficult” cash shops.
How it will ultimately affect the game can only be said when it’s out, and you’ve really been able to observe it for a while.
At the moment, however, it is definitely true: after the rather meager offerings in the free-to-play sector for MMORPGs in recent years, Blade and Soul comes along with a game that has the chance to become a real hit. I’m curious!
