The martial arts MMORPG Blade and Soul will receive its first patch in two weeks: It brings along 5 levels, a single-player dungeon, and more.
If Blade and Soul were a new MMORPG from Europe, NCSoft would be barely hanging on and planning their long-awaited annual vacation. Totally exhausted developers would urgently need a few weeks or months of distance. But Blade and Soul is not a new game; it has been successful in Asia, especially South Korea, for years. Over the years, a lot of game content has piled up that they now have ready for the western launch.

So now NCSoft is not taking it easy but is already planning the next patch for February 10th.
- It brings with “Port of Blood Shadows/Port of Night Shadows” dungeons for 4, 6, or 24 players.
- With the Tower of Mushin, floors 1-7, a heroic dungeon for single players is added, which will expand with future patches.
- And 5 Hongmoon levels enable vertical progression, where players can gain experience and skill points beyond level 45.
- Additionally, the PvP pre-season begins. Zen Beans, the PvP currency, will then be obtainable.
The patch is named “Rough Tides”; it seems that the sun is shining on Blade and Soul at the moment: 1 million players have already joined.
