Wait with the repairs!
You may be used to renewing your armor at the first scratch from other games. However, this process in Blade & Soul consumes repair kits, which can be quite expensive if you buy them from a vendor. So wait until the weapon is really about to break or very close to it to get the maximum benefit from the kits.
Never sell weapons!
Weapons and shields are not junk to throw at the next vendor. They are an important resource to upgrade your main weapon.
In case of doubt, soul shields (Bagua) can also be dismantled, and the materials obtained can be reused – if you get junk from it, you can still sell that.
The Hongmoon weapon – it doesn’t get much better
Blade & Soul will repeatedly tempt you to put down the Hongmoon weapon to use the next best piece that comes into your hands. Don’t be tempted! The Hongmoon weapon, if diligently upgraded, is among the most powerful things your character can obtain. Feed it diligently with other weapons and never let go of it – you can always adjust its appearance later as you wish.
Death to Ginanura
Around level 16 or 17, you will receive a mission to kill the world boss “King Ginanura”. If you have a bit of time, you should not only complete the quest but also blow out the lifes of the big boss several times. This earns you some amethysts and rubies in your inventory, which will be helpful up to level 45 – as they can improve your weapon.
Achievements are worth something!
Unlike in countless other games, achievements have a real use. Some of them permanently improve your character. You may think what you will about that, but anyone who completes a certain instance 10 times receives a permanent upgrade of 400 health points. The same applies to other areas of the game, as 15 victories in the 1vs1 arena grant a bonus of a solid 70 defense points.
The clan devours gold
While it is usually expected that the guild in an MMO “just levels up” as you quest together, visit instances, or engage in PvP, in Blade & Soul this requires hard gold. So you should ask all members as early as possible to regularly deposit a bit of cash into the guild bank – for the common good, of course.
