Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 continues to experiment with player numbers in the Battle Royale mode Blackout. Significant adjustments are also being made to the traditional multiplayer.
How many players are there now in Blackout? So far, 88 players were possible in Solo and Duo modes, and 100 in Quad teams in the Battle Royale mode Blackout.
With the latest update, the developers at Treyarch have adjusted the player counts.
Now the following distribution applies:
- Solo: 88
- Duo: 100
- Quad: 88
Developers continue to experiment: The developers stated that they are still working on the settings of Blackout to provide the optimal experience for all players. With the new rules, 50 Duo teams and 22 Quad teams are now possible each round.
Already in the beta there were times when 100-player playlists in Blackout were experimented with. It seems that Treyarch is not done experimenting with ideas.
Further adjustments to teams in the new patch
The new patch for Black Ops 4 has made further adjustments to team sizes. Now 6-player groups are possible in Team Deathmatch. Previously, 5 players were the maximum.
Further adjustments from the patch include:
- The featured playlist in multiplayer is now Heist
- A bug in calculating the victory round in Custom Search and Destroy has been fixed
- Various bugs have been fixed, including many stability improvements for PC
What do players say? Many fans are happy about the good support for the PC version and that Treyarch is releasing an update almost daily.
However, some are also complaining about bad ping. Therefore, reducing the player count in Quad mode could possibly improve things.
Especially many players are asking for a better split-screen mode and a split-screen for PCs.
