Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 finally addresses a long-standing issue with the new update Operation: Absolute Zero that has frustrated players. You can now finally repair your armor in Blackout, so you won’t be punished for fighting.
How can you repair armor? Today, the Update Operation: Absolute Zero is being released for Black Ops 4, bringing numerous changes, including for the Blackout mode. However, since December 10, 2018, it has been possible to restore and upgrade your armor in the Battle Royale mode Blackout thanks to a small pre-update change. Simply collect armor pieces.
The armor pieces are scattered throughout the game world, are more common than complete armors, and have their own slot in the inventory. They are essentially “health packs for armor” because when you apply them, your armor is upgraded by 100 points. This way, you can repair damaged armor or further enhance it.
How does the repair work exactly? To fix the armor, you just need to select the plates in your inventory, and the armor will be upgraded in about 2 seconds. That should be enough time to briefly hide and come back out with full armor.
Fans have long demanded armor repair
That’s why the repair feature is well received: Armor gives you a significant advantage in the game because you can withstand much more than without armor. But once the armor was gone, you were significantly weakened.
Many players felt “punished” when they had engaged in tough combats and then became easy prey for other players. An aggressive playstyle was often not a good idea if you couldn’t constantly switch your armor.
But now that you can “heal” your armor with the more frequently found armor plates, no one should feel punished for taking hits in a tough fight.
What do you think of the new repair feature? Does Blackout now bring you more fun?
