The open beta of Black Desert Online on Xbox One starts this November. Fans will be able to try out some classes during the open beta.
It has been known since early 2017 that Pearl Abyss is working on a console port of Black Desert Online for Xbox One. Accordingly, fans had to wait a long time for the open beta of the MMO.
Open beta starts in November
The long wait is over: Until now, Pearl Abyss has been very vague about the open beta. The publisher talked about a beta at the end of 2018. However, some players have now received emails mentioning the upcoming open beta from Pearl Abyss.
When does the open beta start? Players will be able to roam the world of Black Desert on Xbox One starting November 8, 2018.
What can you expect in the open beta? During the open beta, players will be able to play different classes including the Berserker, the Ranger, the Sorceress, the Warrior, and the Wizard. The development team also promises special events and life skills (crafting abilities in Black Desert).
Players have been waiting for over a year
Pearl Abyss announced the console port of Black Desert alongside Microsoft at E3 2017. But then it went quiet about Black Desert on Xbox, and nothing happened for a year. At E3 2018, Pearl Abyss then mentioned an open beta in fall 2018. They seem to be keeping that promise now.
Why did Black Desert take so long on Xbox? Pearl Abyss does not mention an official reason. Perhaps this long delay is due to the fact that interest in Black Desert has cooled off somewhat among fans in the West. Recently, there has been increasing criticism of Black Desert from players.

Recently, Pearl Abyss severed ties with the game’s Russian publisher, and the accounts of all Russian players were in danger. A disaster at Black Desert can still be averted.
