The MMORPG Black Desert Online introduces new skills for the endgame. These are intended to provide an alternative to the Awakening skills, making the old weapons interesting again.
What are these skills? The new Succession skills can be unlocked at level 56 after completing a questline from the Black Spirit. However, you must decide whether to:

- or use the Awakening skills.
Until now, there were only the Awakening skills, which are also unlocked at level 56. These significantly change the playstyle of the class and are so powerful that old skills are hardly used anymore. The Succession skills are meant to change that.
Greater focus on class weapons
How do the skills differ? The Succession skills aim to refocus on the old weapon skills. If you liked using sword and shield as a warrior, you can confidently do without the large two-handed sword. If you liked the bow as a ranger, you should be able to use it effectively with the Succession skills.
The new skills are intended to feel immediately familiar, even though they are noticeably stronger, as explained by Jaehee Kim, Executive Producer at Pearl Abyss:
The Succession skills aim to bring back the familiar playstyle of the main weapons. This is intended to provide players with a lasting good experience. We hope our fans will try out the reworked capabilities they are already familiar with, which are much stronger than before.
When will the skills be introduced into the game? The first skills are set to be introduced with an update on December 4th. However, only the Ranger and the Warrior will benefit from the update.
The other classes are to follow later.
The new skills represent the first major update since the “Great Expedition” in October. The expedition made the seas more interesting.
Special event for skill levels: There will also be a special event where you can meet a Mysterious Knight and earn a 100% skill experience bonus. This should also be applicable to the new skills starting December 4th.
In this event, you do not have to defeat any enemies, but just find the knight and interact with him. When he appears, a system message will be displayed. After that, he will remain for 30 minutes.
New class ready to go: In addition to the new skills, a new class has also been recently announced. The Guardian will be a female Berserker.
She wears fur and high-heeled shoes and is also expected to be released this winter. The new class Shai was already released in June 2019.
