Black Desert Online is getting a big update in Europe soon with the long-awaited “Absolute Skills.” These are powerful abilities that affect your primary weapon. The special thing: All classes will receive these skills at once. In Korea, this took weeks.
In South Korea, the home of Black Desert, there are already two new skill systems for the sandbox MMORPG Black Desert Online:
- Rabam’s Enlightenment: A system to “fuse” existing skills of the primary weapon and thus create entirely new abilities.
- Absolute Skills (Jin Skills in Korean): Extremely powerful versions of existing primary weapon skills that you can learn from level 56.
While there is still no date for a West release of the Rabam Skills, the Absolute Skills are expected to appear here soon.
What are Absolute Skills and why should you learn them?
Absolute Skills are abilities that you can learn starting at level 56. However, they are quite expensive and can cost around 50 points. So you should think carefully about whether to invest so much effort into a skill.
Curiously, the Absolute Skills affect your primary weapons, which is the combat tool you used before the “Awakening.” So far, there have been few reasons to continue using old weapons after the awakening, as the awakened weapon was usually the better option.
Basic Skills in extra strong!
With the Absolute Skills, you will get already known skills of your pre-awakening weapon in a turbo version, which can deal double or even triple the damage points.
And the best part: At the launch of the Absolute Skills on February 28, 2018, in our EU version, you will get the Absolute Skills for ALL classes in Black Desert at once. In Korea, it took many weeks for all heroes to gradually get their skills.
Not everyone likes the Absolute Skills …
The announcement about the Absolute Skills delights many players of Black Desert. Classes like the Ranger with bow are receiving a long-awaited comeback through the new skills. However, some players view the new skills skeptically.
They wonder why the Rabam Skills are not coming first. These would indeed be new skills that would improve balancing. The Absolute Skills are merely overpowered versions of old skills. What was already OP before, like the notorious “Blizzard,” is now going to be even more overpowered.
The developers want to publish more information about the Absolute Skills on the Black Desert homepage in the days leading up to the release on February 28, 2018.
By the way, the new PvP server Arsha in Black Desert is live from today.
