Black Desert Online (PC) may come to the Xbox One console possibly in summer 2018. And perhaps the planned mobile version could also be released for the Nintendo Switch. Black Desert on the PlayStation 4 is also planned, but there is no new information regarding a release.
Black Desert Online is a beautiful sandbox MMORPG with action gameplay and impressive character editor. All this splendor of Black Desert Online is set to shine soon on the Xbox One and a launch is getting closer. After all, the release is planned for 2018, but there has been no new information for months.
Black Desert to arrive on Xbox One in summer
After a dedicated teaser page for the Xbox version recently went live, the developers have now further specified the release date for the console version.
At GDC 2018, the website Dualshockers asked Robin Jung, the CEO of Black Desert developers Pearl Abyss, about the Xbox release and the PS4 version of the game. They mentioned that they are looking at summer as a possible launch date for the Xbox version.
Update 11.8.: It is now known that Black Desert will start beta on Xbox One in autumn 2018.
PS4 version of Black Desert planned, but only after Xbox One
The PlayStation version of Black Desert Online is still planned, but there is nothing new to report. Developing first for the Xbox was purely a business decision and has nothing to do with technical reasons.
Pearl Abyss has a partnership with Microsoft, hence the porting to Xbox One takes precedence.
Black Desert Mobile might also come to Nintendo Switch!
An even more interesting idea is currently being pursued by Pearl Abyss. According to Jung, they are considering bringing the mobile version of Black Desert Online to Nintendo’s Switch console as well. After all, the gameplay on the Switch is comparable to playing mobile games on a phone or tablet. However, so far this is just an idea, and there are no concrete plans yet.
If they decide to do so, a real graphics powerhouse will come to the Switch, as the mobile version of Black Desert Online is beautiful!
