The sieges in Black Desert Online were supposed to arrive in the game today, June 15. However, they are not, as publisher Daum has postponed the PvP sieges.
In Black Desert Online, you can build special fortresses with your guild, and other guilds can then besiege and possibly capture these in the guild wars, thus earning fame and honor. Or at least, you should be able to do this, as so far only players from the Korean version of the Asia-sandbox MMO have the privilege of the sieges.
Actually, the siege battles were supposed to be patched into the game today, but due to some last-minute issues, the feature has been postponed. Therefore, the siege battles in Black Desert Online will unfortunately not arrive until next Friday, June 17.
The reason for the delay – Too much new content
So what exactly was the problem? Belsazar, community manager at Daum, explains it by stating that they needed to implement features from Season 4 of the Korean version for the siege battles. However, since these are based on the first three seasons as well as the yet-to-be-released Valencia update, the necessary infrastructure for the siege battles in the western version of the game was not yet available.
Therefore, some elements of the Valencia update had to be brought forward, and thus the quality assurance took longer than planned. Consequently, Daum had to make the difficult decision to postpone the siege feature to June 17, 2016.
