The fantasy MMORPG Black Desert is coming to mobile devices.
Some Korean sites had reported that Pearl Abyss is working on a mobile version of Black Desert, and indeed: The developer has now confirmed these rumors.
Pearl Abyss is working on a mobile RPG based on Black Desert. It will use the same world view as the “big PC RPG”. At the moment, they are probably deciding which game content from the PC version to use in the mobile version. They are using a proprietary in-house built engine for the project, similar to the PC Black Desert.
It is expected that Pearl Abyss will present “Mobile Black Desert” in 2017. In South Korea, the home country of Black Desert, the trend is currently shifting towards mobile gaming. Future high-profile titles in the MMORPG space, such as Lineage Eternal, will be developed with mobile as a focus from the start.
